Privacy policy
This policy explains how Trueseller handles information when you use our mobile app and website. For privacy questions or requests, contact Trueseller at info@goapps.com.gh. You can browse public listings without creating an account. Signing in and using optional features involves the information described below.
Account, marketplace and communication data
We collect your phone number, chosen name, account identifier and sign-in records to create and secure your account. Optional profile and business details include photos, contact numbers, email, business address and location, and the information you choose to publish. Public listings, reviews, seller updates and public store details are visible to other people.
We process messages, attachments, voice recordings and other content you send, including retained historical activity, to provide conversations and marketplace features. Messages and private attachments are available to their participants and authorised service personnel when needed to operate the service or investigate reports. They are not end-to-end encrypted. Reports, support requests and moderation records help us address problems and prevent abuse.
Searches, saved searches, bookmarks, viewed-listing activity and preferences support results, recommendations, history and alerts. Raw search text is sent to our search service when you search, but is excluded from Google analytics events. When you choose photo search, your selected photo is sent through Trueseller to Cloudflare AI Search to find similar listings.
Optional contact discovery
If you choose contact setup or enable Sync my contacts, Trueseller reads permitted contact names and Ghana phone numbers and uploads them to your signed-in account. On devices with limited contact access, only the contacts you select are read. Guest setup can save your choice for your first sign-in; it does not read or upload your contacts while you are a guest. Device permission alone does not authorise an upload.
Your uploaded names and numbers are encrypted in server storage. Keyed phone-number matching helps you discover contacts who newly join Trueseller, publish a store and enable public-store discovery. Your saved names appear only in your own matching results. Other members do not see your address book or the names you saved for them. This feature does not send invitations or marketing messages. Contact names and phone numbers are excluded from Google analytics and crash-reporting events.
The explained setup action can enable contact sync and public-store discovery for a new account or unset preferences when you grant access. Previously saved choices are preserved. In Settings, turn Sync my contacts off to remove uploaded contacts, or turn Let people find my public store off to remove your matching entry. These controls are separate. Revoking device access removes uploaded contacts when the app next checks permission and can reach the server. Account deletion also removes uploaded contacts, incomplete uploads, preferences and the matching entry. A completed replacement removes the previous snapshot; incomplete uploads expire after 30 minutes.
Location, camera, microphone and notification choices
Location permission is optional. Nearby browsing can use device location and the platform geocoding service to choose your Ghana region; Trueseller retains the region for browsing rather than the GPS coordinates or returned address. You can choose a region manually or browse All Ghana. Business place searches are sent through Trueseller to Google Maps. We store a selected place identifier and your sharing preference; exact business-location details are shown to buyers after you enable sharing and save.
Camera and photo access let you choose or capture listing, profile, chat, search and verification images or videos. Microphone access lets you record voice messages. These permissions are used for the features you choose. Notification permission and a device push token enable service updates, conversations and alerts; you can change notifications in the app and device settings. You can also change contacts, location, camera, photos and microphone permissions in device settings.
Identity verification and payments
If you request identity verification, we collect a photo of you holding your identity document for private review by authorised staff. The photo can contain your face and personal details printed on the document. It is not a public profile photo. Unsubmitted evidence expires after 24 hours and submitted evidence after 30 days; expired evidence is no longer readable and storage cleanup retries if necessary. The verification decision and its audit record support the badge and safety checks.
Where a Trueseller payment feature is available, Paystack handles the payment information you enter in its checkout. Trueseller keeps payment references, amounts, status and entitlement records to provide paid features and reconcile payments. We do not ask you to send card details or a Mobile Money PIN to support. Payment providers handle their own records under their privacy policies.
Usage, diagnostics and service providers
Our production mobile app uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Firebase Crashlytics to understand feature use, performance and failures. These services process app interactions, sessions, installation identifiers, device and app information, crash reports and diagnostic timings. Analytics can derive approximate location from IP addresses. Analytics and crash reporting are enabled in the production app; there is currently no separate in-app switch for these measurements. Our custom events use categories, counts, timings and approved public identifiers, and exclude names, phone numbers, emails, login credentials, message bodies, contact imports, exact locations and raw search text. Advertising-ID collection and advertising personalisation are disabled in the mobile analytics configuration.
Firebase Cloud Messaging processes installation and push-token information to deliver notifications you enable. Google Maps processes device and request metadata, its own identifier, crash information and map interactions to operate and improve its services. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare provides our hosting, storage, network protection and search processing. Sign-in delivery services, including Hubtel for SMS and WhatsApp when offered, receive the destination phone number and sign-in message. Email delivery services receive the address and message needed for business-email verification or support. Network requests include technical information such as IP addresses and app/browser details needed to deliver and protect the service. Providers process the information needed for these functions, and their services may operate outside your country. Information you deliberately publish or send to another member is also disclosed to that audience.
The website uses cookies and browser storage for sessions, preferences and analytics. Read the Cookie policy for website controls and details.
Explore may use regional weather forecasts from MET Norway through our server. We send fixed regional-centre coordinates, not your personal GPS position, account details or browsing history, to the forecast provider. Recent browsing summaries stay on your device; listing identifiers are sent to Trueseller when checking whether those items are still available.
Website advertising
On public marketplace pages where advertising is enabled, Trueseller places Google AdSense advertisements between listings. Google and participating advertising partners may read or store cookies and process the page address, IP address, browser and device information, and interactions with ads to deliver and measure advertising and prevent fraud. Depending on your consent and advertising settings, cookies can help select ads using visits to Trueseller and other websites.
This website advertising is separate from the mobile analytics settings described above. Read how Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s advertising information. Our Cookie policy explains advertising choices. These disclosures do not themselves grant permission to use advertising cookies.
Retention, security and deletion
Account and marketplace records remain while needed to provide the features you use, until you remove them where controls are available or delete your account. Some activity and operational records expire under feature-specific schedules; there is no single automatic expiry for all account data. Contact and identity-evidence limits are described above. Connections to Trueseller use HTTPS, account access is authenticated, and private uploads are access-controlled. Public content can be copied or saved by its viewers.
Account deletion removes profile/contact details and contact-discovery data, hides and redacts your listings and historical content, removes or redacts authored free text, and revokes sessions and sign-in codes. Owned uploads are restricted and queued for removal. Shared marketplace images can remain while another active listing uses them. Limited payment, audit, rating and numeric bid records may remain under a deleted-member identity for reconciliation and abuse prevention; these retained records currently have no fixed automatic deletion schedule. Diagnostic services and payment providers have their own retention practices; deleting an account does not automatically erase every provider record or copies already saved by others.
